Smile Should I go with C2S or C4S?

After deciding on going for the 991 (instead of the 997.2 Turbo) (many thanks to all who posted their perspective!)
Now I would like to get your advice on wether or not I should spend the money on the AWD.
1) My main consideration to go for the C4S would be to cope with winter weather (I live in the Northeast), but would I be just fine with winter tires and C2S?
Does the AWD give you much better drive ability in wet/cold weather or the difference is minimal?
2) Also, Is the C2S more agile?

This 991 would be my daily driver.
thanks again!!

If I was still in PA, I'd want a C4S.

I noticed you are ordering a new M3...are you replacing the C2S with the M3?

I'm a big fan of the C4 & C4S. I love everything about the car. I had winter tires on my previous C4S cars and they did wonderfully on snow and ice packed roads - lots of fun. The only issue you'll get hung up on is snow depth over 5 or 6 inches, which you will get hung up on, particularly if it is wet, heavy snow.

I've owned both C2S (current) and C4S (993). The extra weight of the C4S bogs the performance somewhat on track days, but it will scoot around corners like a madman if you have R Compound rubber installed. Also great for playing hard on the corners on rainy days. And of course the wider butt is great. But for winter? Man, winter will flat tear up your car with chemicals and rock chips. You will lose thousands in added depreciation. For the extra cost of a C4S over a C2S and winter tires AND the damage done to the car you can have one of these. This is my winter ride and 10" of snow on the ground won't stop it.

You say northeast, but that really doesn't define it enough. If you are in CT, RI, NJ, MA, or PA, a 2S may be ok if you have another vehicle to drive on the 6 or 7 days a winter you get heavy snow. If you live in a snowy area where you have real winter weather on a regular basis, the 4S is the car.

What are your impressions when you drive them?

Ok so I am hearing that, in your experience, having a C4 does make a noticeable difference vs a C2.

^ this. I have a Suburban and a Subaru for the winter. My C4S stays in the garage over the winter.

For a daily driver, I would go for the 4S. I put Michelin winter tires on my C2S because the Pirellis are like rocks at less than 40 degrees. The one time I drove the C2S in the snow, I knew I could get home just fine, but I would not want to make it a habit. I drive my Range Rover Sport in bad weather

I had a 911_50 on order until I drove a 991 C4S.

C4S without a doubt. But I might be biased.
