Default Minor Wheel Nick

While washing the car today, I noticed this little nick. I have the tire and wheel protection, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if this would be covered? I have read the protection agreement, but to me, it's unclear what is actually covered. If it is covered, what would they do? Replace or repair?

That's a weird spot, probably a rock flew up somehow while driving. If it were me, I'd have a local wheel repair guy (I've got a good one unfortunately in Houston not Dallas) take a look at it. If they could fix it, I'd do that and either pay out of pocket or file on the insurance.
They might balk at replacing the wheel for that, but who knows? I've only used one of those policies before for a tire.

Then stay over at the 993 forum. You self proclaim your car is a POS, so that adds to your perspective.

That's about a $150 repair at a quality shop. What is that mark above by the tire bead?

Thanks for the feedback. The mark above the nick is just one of those rubber spikes from the tires. Not sure what it's called.

I took a second look LexVan. I think what you're seeing is water from the wash.

That makes sense now. Ok.

You could just touch it up with some paint initially and see if it bothers you enough to fix it down the road.

Another reason to have someone else wash your car.

On a serious note, I am sorry about the wheel ding. Having dealt with dealers and the wheel/tire insurance, not sure that it'll be covered. I may be wrong (which I usually am) but I believe those policies cover wheel damage from potholes, e.g. bent wheels, and tire punctures/flats, and not cosmetic damage or things like curb rash.

But who knows, never hurts to submit a claim.

Good luck.

its a car, not a porcelain doll. These wheels are spinning at several hundred rpm on a road filled with pebbles and other debris. **** happens.

Far as i know, wheel and tire policy covers structural damage to wheels and tires, not minor cosmetic issues.

that said, I didn't notice the white spot in my prior view of the pic. The white spot is more serious, but still unlikely they will fix it.

as for your attitude, I find it uncouth.
