Porsche sales 2013:
USA 42323 pop: 317'000'000
France 2813 pop: 66'000'000
Switzerland 2518 pop: 7'000'000, and 991 rate is pretty high.

In 2013 US sold a total of 10440 911's which is 1/4 of worldwide sales, but they got 600 of 1963 which is 30% of 50th so some countries got shortchanged with their allocation. What I am missing is German numbers.

Geneva did not get a geyser so that makes 1 geyser vs 9 black/graphite in the geneva/lussane area, it is in line with rest of Europe where Graphite is by far the most popular colour, in US geyser seems to tip the popularity scale.

Interesting numbers! Do you have a exclusive source or are they accessible to public? If so, where are they published? And if not, will Porsche Switzerland provide reliable information if asked?

Just a detail: Population of switzerland is 8,1 Million today.

You're right, I'm a bit late with our open borders...
Numbers are coming from the annual report (online PDF). Local details from insiders, but nothing confidential. The geyser from my area was sold to a lady.

If graphite is popular in Europe, I think it's related to the slate grey 911S from the movie "Le Mans" driven by S. McQueen. Even the collector who bought a Jo Siffert's former car, restored it and paint it Slate grey (was green) with an idea of a McQueen replica and then learned the car belonged to Siffert. Siffert worked in the movie as 917 driver, was and is still very popular here.
Even the Porsche 911 4S Exclusive show car in the Geneva Motorshow was slate grey in 2014.

You're so right... I'm thinking my car is the modern day version of this and trying to convince my wife I'm as cool as Steve McQueen now!

I have a really low count for France in my analysis see link below, I don't think its a strong market for Porsche & economy is not doing too well either but also I did not target france (for my data pool) so would be great to identify some cars there.

One of you swiss guys should try and get some numbers from Porsche Switzerland or your dealer so that we can verify these stats.
