SPORT plus
I tend to drive my C4S mostly in Sport plus (love the rev matching downshifts on my 7MT with Sport Chrono and PDDC.) PSM always ON.
However after reading "In SPORT PLUS mode, the trigger threshold for PSM is raised", I'm wondering if I'm giving up some degree of PSM (Porsche Save my *ss (TM) electronic nanny safety for my old guy routine commutes and highway on/off ramp adventures. Being just an average driver and not a drift master....

Well first off the most likely thing is you're driving so far below the limit it'll never really matter. Your most likely event that will activate PSM is driving through a patch of slippery pavement you didn't see coming. Or you take the wrong line, then make things worse with more bad inputs (happens a lot with untrained drivers) to where the car is about to slide. Anything like that happens in Normal mode PSM will intervene so early and so effectively you'll probably not even notice. You will just think wow, Walter Rohrl, eat your heart out! In Sport Plus the same thing will happen (you will be saved!) but because the activation threshold is higher, not before letting the car slide enough to (hopefully) put a good healthy scare into you.
That scary feeling by the way is Nature's way of telling you to get on the internet, find your local PCA Region and sign up for their next Driver Skills or Driver Ed event. Please note however they will only let you drive one at a time.
