fwiw, i have not read the article thoroughly but interesting given that you can only get the backup camera if you select front&rear parkassist.

The issue with this study is that it is only looking at it from purely a safety perspective, i.e. not running over the little ones. It concluded that parking sensors aren't helpful because of their limited range, which does not provide enough warning at typical driver speeds.
Of course, this article is hardly relevant or applicable to Porsche owners, since they put the protection of their rims and paint far above anything else.

Actually the study looked at running over cardboard cutouts. Whatever. Eventually George Lucas will arrive and propose new THX (1138?) video standards and we'll finally have the 360 degree holographic driving experience Ferdinand always dreamed of.

Best of all, when you make the cops burn more gas chasing you than they will earn in ticket revenue, they let you go!

i think the whole concept of park assist is pointless for the size of the 911. you can argue that it helps you park in the sense that you choose not to be aware of the dimensions of your vehicle but what about the cars in front/behind you?? they're going to smack your bumpers when they leave!

Trust me, Porsche will eventually roll out full-auto parking. It has been under development for years now only nobody knows due to the secrecy and effectiveness of the mules they use for testing.
