Default Upgrade to automatic dimming mirror?

Looking at a 991 in stock in my area but it is missing the automatic dimming rear and side mirrors. Any chance I can at least upgrade the rear mirror to auto dimming post-sale?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tint the rear window and you're good to go.

Hilarious and accurate. Probably cheaper too.

That is good for rear view but does nothing for side view, you may want to give your local dealer a call, comes in handy if you are in a area with lots of trucks or SUV

side view for me would be a bummer without auto dimming though my side mirrors are set correctly and don't look straight behind me. Also maybe the wiring not there if not in factory spec. - could be difficult. If you like dimming keep looking imo. Get everything you want factory or it can be a real pain with Porsche. It takes a first Porsche to learn that sometimes. Good luck.

My guess is to add it after the fact with OEM parts would be laughably expensive.

Tint the side windows too.

Seriously though I'm sure mtbscott is correct as it was this way on the last gen. I forget the number but it was over the top. sides are what matter as the rear has the flipper. Get a car with it installed by the factory or negotiate the price completely sit down to sign the paperwork and then say oh, btw I'll only do this if you retrofit auto dimming. Get a t shirt too.

Unless there has been a significant change from type 997 to type 991 with the wiring harness, it is nearly impossible* to retrofit. But ask the service manager at your dealership they would know best.

* - means really expensive and extremely invasive as noted above.
