Default Rims for the track advise please!

Had a blast on Thunderbolt last fall @ NJ Motorsports park and looking to pick up a set of inexpensive factory 19" rims so that I can mount some Hoosier R6. I am OK if I need to add spacer to get proper offset.
Will Carrera I work? Lobster claws are same sizes as Carerra I ? as they are relatively inexpensive .

BTW 2013 911S 2wd
Thanks!!!

thanks! that wasnt an option that I thought of. I was thinking more on the lines a 997 rim just for the availbllty of them plus like I stated not intrested in bling bling just want a straight rim for track duties. after that they stay in the corner of my trailer! LOL

Several people on the forum, including myself, run these from Tire Rack:
19x11 O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT MATTE SILV
9x8.5 O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT MATTE SILV

With tires the same height as the 20's, it's a smaller overall diameter, but it seems to work quite nicely. (I have PDCC as well)

If the height of the tire is the same as the 20s wouldn't the diameter of the tire be the same. I am interested in 19s as well and would like the speed and mileage to be displayed correctly. Thanks in advance.

I bought a slightly used set of 20" Carrera Classics to match the set my 991S came with. Just took delivery last week of the Pilot Sport Cup 2's that come on the GT3.

No, I'm referring to sidewall height. The speed is not correctly reflected, but it's only off by about 5%. The speed reporting difference is worth the ability to run better tires, like r888. It's only for the track, so I put the 20's back on as soon as I get home. There aren't any good track tires in the taller sidewall 19" size, and the 20" tires are very expensive. To put in perspective, it's just running the stock sizes for a 997.2

Ok...
Yeah I was told that Carrera Classic with a 15mm spacer would work.
That doesnt change the fact that I loose 1/2 of rim diameter. I would image that lobsters and Classic are the same dimensions.

Nice to find a set of OEM 991 19" for a good price....

in the 997 era wheels, only the "Sport" wheel are 8.5in.
Youre better off getting some 991 Base 19 "take offs"

btw go 255 on the front

Nope . First of all not many aftermkt 19s will fit. Do a search.
Dealers will have barely used take offs. Call around

Is there any advantage to running 20s other than appearance ? Up to a point I thought the larger rims reduced sidewall distortion during hard cornering. The pavement in my area is broken up, driving at night tends to be a jarring experience.

No advantage beyond appearance.
