Default Forgeline GZ3R

Just got Yoko AD08Rs mounted on my new 19" Forgeline GZ3R wheels. Here is a really bad pic of them sitting next to the car. Once we're done with our 15° weather and upcoming March snow, I'll put them on the car and get better pictures. Can't wait!

Also, notice how I mount my car upside down on the ceiling of the garage so it will drip dry.

I tried editing and flipping the picture upside down on my iPad camera roll to get it right side up in the post, but it's still upside down! Help...

Do you have SPASM or lowering springs on your car? That is not much of a wheel gap....

SPASM. I'm hoping the wheel gap won't be too much with the Forgelines mounted. As it is now, with the OEM 20" wheels, I feel like it could sit maybe another 10mm lower. The car is brand new. I'm hoping that over time, and with a few track events, the springs will settle a bit and the car will sit even lower. That was the case with my M3 before.

Specs on your set up?
Will it just be for track use?

I've read great things about the AD08. And I'm hoping the new 'R' will be even better.

This will be a dual-purpose track and daily driver summer setup. I have Pirelli winter tires on the OEM wheels for winter use. I'm not willing to drive the car 150mi to the track on R-comps, and I don't want to trailer it, so I'm hoping the Yokos will be a decent compromise.

Oh yeah! I'll post pics when I get the gooseneck hitch installed.

Its a nice dual set up. Congrats!!!
offsets??
My only concern is that overall diameter is a bit short, ideally 255/40 and 305/35, but nobody really makes those rears. I might end up getting the same tires for track days for my C4S.

Yes--I ran the numbers over and over again and agonized over it. This setup will have an overall wheel/tire diameter of 0.8" less than the stock 20" setup. Shouldn't be that significant. The main reason I didn't go with the 255/40 and 305/35 setup is that I was concerned about increasing the sidewall height--that setup would increase sidewall height by 0.4 to 0.5" over stock, and I was afraid that might make for more sidewall rollover and sloppy handling on the track.

Philip/Team Plutonium also does the 255/35-19 and 305/30-19 setup, and says he's very happy with it. I'll report back once track season begins.

There are many of us that run a smaller diameter on the track because it's the only size r888 comes in. I've not noticed any ill effect. Also, the gap on this setup looks crazy small. Is this not rubbing?

It's an optical illusion. The 19" Forgeline/Yokos are sitting up against the car, right next to the OEM 20" wheels which are currently on the car. The fact that the Forgeline/Yokos are in the foreground a bit makes them look slightly bigger relative to the wheel arch.
