I know it's a longshot, but is it possible to get the dynamic engine mounts, sport plus button and rev matching downshifts without taking up prime highly visible interior space with a stopwatch I'll never use?
I don't see any technical reason why you'd be required to get a stopwatch in order to have sport plus, dynamic engine mounts, and rev match downshifts. How are they connected?

I think your chances of getting Sport Chrono without the dash doo-dad are about as good as getting Burmester without the wart. But while you're on it, see about deleting headlight washers too, okay?
Could a dealer remove the clock/stopwatch from the dash and replace the cover to make it look like a car without it?
I'd really like to get the features from the package, but it's not worth the tradeoff of having to look at the stopwatch.
I only have a little bit of time before my order is finalized so I'm just going through all the options again to make sure
It is really easy to remove the cover and swap it for a 'non-watch' cover and it takes less than 15 minutes. There is only one wire running to the chrono you have to disconnect. The only risk is to get computer errors or the instrument cluster chrono not working. I guess the dealership can take care of that through PIWIS. Worth asking them the question.
Porsche is supposed to be coming out with a Sport Plus upgrade for the 991 like they did for the 997. No wart but all the features of sport plus package. It was only $1K for the 997.

BIG difference 997 vs 991 functionality. Mainly dynamic motor mounts and rev matching on manual downshifts. Not gunna get that for a grand.
Personally, I love seeing the Chrono clock up on the dash. When I come up on another 991 it's the first thing I look for through the windshield It's also your only option for a factory analog clock.

I looked the other day, and on my TTS I have no fewer than 4 time displays on the dash.
Yup, I count the same number of clocks. 3 digital (in the instrument gauge, on the PCM screen and in the sport chrono clock) and 1 analog (sport chrono clock). I never have an excuse for being late when I drive my C2S!
I drive 99% of the time with the engine info up in the display. Distance to empty on top and only the outside temp on the bottom. Since I'm a cheap a** I have the base PCM stereo so half the time the PCM is turned off. That leaves the Chrono clock up top. I also like to time my 7 year old daughter with the Chrono and see how long she can go without talking. I mean that's what a $135k car with Chrono is for anyway. Right? Not the track. Definitely not in Los Angeles.
