Default Upgrading to Sat Radio

I have become used to satellite radio in my truck. My 991 did not come with satellite radio. What is involved in having it installed by the dealer? Is it even worth it?

Thanks.

If you don't have it, buy PSE instead.

The only way to add the factory sat radio is to replace the entire PCM. I know because my new 991 was accidentally ordered without it. Big job, I think probably around $5k .

You can buy a subscription to Sirius through an iPhone app. Hard wired to the Porsche's USB port, the sound quality is excellent. About $4 a month.

Agree - but I want the convenience of not having to look at my iPhone while driving. I will just live without it. Lesson learned for my next 911. Thanks, all.

BT Audio streams data as well..It will show you what is playing on the PCM as well as allowing you to go forward through the tracks.

My 2012 991 came with free 6 months Sirius and that capability in the PCM. Are they realling charging extra for that now?

Wasn't aware that Pandora now has CNN, FOXNews, ESPN, Bloomberg, and live ball games, traffic & weather.

You're not missing out. The Satellite Radio quality on the 991 worse than even AM radio imo

Just had the XM antenna replaced on my 2013 991 C2S under warranty (Jan 2014). Was getting horrible reception. Known issue.......

Works good now!

Really? Thanks. I'll check it out.
Ever dealt with XM/Sirius customer service? If you had, you would be running as far away from them as possible!!! Horrible company to do business with with their outsourcing.

Pandora gives you all the music and comedy you will ever want-need- desire...for news , NPR seems to be the best, IMHO.

YMMV...

Agree with this. When switching from FM to Sat radio, I have to give the volume **** a good twist up to maintain a consistent volume between the 2 media.
