Porsche has criteria (i.e. not more than one panel repainted...). A 'small' accident does not disqualify a car from being CPO'd. My experience with the cars I traded in that that got CPO'd by Porsche before being sold by the dealership is that they had pointed out any issue I had noticed (or created ) myself.

Tires! 8k the easy way suggests you've got a year of fun left. A few track weekends will result in a car looking for $1500 shoes not long after you get her home.

Thank you all for the info.

Follow up:
The car's appearance, car-fax, service records, etc. were fine. On test drive, in low RPM range (~1.5 - 4K) the car felt very sluggish on acceleration. At 6K RPM or so the car perked up quite nicely. Is this something to be concern with?

Can you provide some more details on the specs of the car.

It shouldn't feel sluggish at all.
What car are you coming from?

MSRP was $140K+ options included
PASM Sports Suspension
Sport Chrono Package
SportDesign Front Apron
SportDesign Package
SportDesign Steering Wheel

The car felt very heavy on acceleration in both, normal and sport modes. There was something off about driving that car - can't say for sure. I walked away from it despite all the good looks on paper and in person,

2011 x5 - daily driver
1956 Buick Special - weekends with kids

Have you driven other 991's for comparison? Might be worth it to help establish a baseline of what the cars should or shouldn't feel like.

Sluggish to some may feel spirited to others. But if they all feel sluggish you may need to look for a turbo.

I will test-drive few more. I am not giving up .
Yes, turbo can cure all kinds of ailments, including sluggishness.

Keep looking, it shouldn't feel sluggish at all. I drove a 997 that was part of a group of ex Porsche Driving School cars- it just felt generally worn.

Another thing to look for is a rattling sunroof. It's easy to check without driving the car. Just open it all the way, and then hit the corners with you fist. You shouldn't hear a rattle. If you do the dealer might need to adjust it or replace the rails.

Had a dealer tell me that the sunroof rattle goes away after the car warms up. Find those kind of answers insulting. Best of luck and enjoy the "hunt."

Was it a PDK car? Is PDK a "learning transmission"? Maybe the prior owner babied the car, and that's why it feels sluggish now till it learns a new driver's tendicies????

Good point Lexvan...

I have had this issue on a pdk car I drove and asked the dealer to re-flash the pdk software. It changed everything to start from "new."
