Last year I picked our first Porsche a '13 Carmine Red GTS, which we have just loved. Anyway, this started a 9 month odyssey by my father to get his first Porsche a Carmine Red 991 C4S. After taking almost 7 months to get the PTS approved for the 991 this beauty finally arrived last week. It is stunning in person! As far as we know this is the only one built to date, very special!! Props to Jayson England at ParkPlace Dallas for all his help on making this happen. I will post better pics later..

I really like this choice of color on the 991. Guaranteed to be unique, that is for sure! Congrats and post the build options when you have a chance....

Bokke, do you mind explaining to us the 7 month 'odyssey' of getting that particular PTS color approved by Porsche? These are my specific questions which you can expand at will with your complete response:
1) Can you confirm the color code as 'MC3'?
2) From the moment you ordered the car with that PTS color request until it was approved by PAG, how long did that take in # of months? Not how long it took to built from date of order but how long before he knew it was going to be built in that color! It would give some idea to folks at Rennlist of how long it takes to do the color fade test on all the surfaces of a 991. Especially helpful information for those planning to do a unique PTS that has not yet been approved for a 991, 981 or Panamera!

Yes the code is M3C karminrot / Carmine Red
As for the timeline, these are the dates:
- 04/06/13 order was created
- 05/06/13 Changed order demand in to Order. Everything between May and Nov were reassignments and order blocked by PAG
- 11/22/13 Order released for production.
- 12/09/13 Vehicle being produced
The approve list has 911 and Boxster and a "?" for Panamera, although my dealer has a CR Panamera in stock.
Thanks to all the other for the kind messages. When you see it next to Guards Red, the GR has more orange in the color.
