Default Make auto stop/start off by default?

I ordered a new 991 CS4 manual and as part of my research saw a couple references to this system and that as part of their routine most people have to push the button every time they get in car to turn it off.

Since my car hasn't been built yet, is there a way to instruct them to have it turned off by default rather than on?

I don't want my high performance sports car turning off every time I stop. It's a minor thing to push a button every time you get in the car, but it would be nice if there was a way to disable it

With the auto stop/start once you turn it off it stays off. You don't have to turn it off every time you start the car.

Where are you located?

In Canada, I do not need to turn it off every time I start the car. It 'remembers'.

IIRC, it might be different in Europe?

Hi,
I'm also a new C2S owner (2014). I found that you can turn off the start/stop function then memorize that just like you would your seat, mirrors, A/C, etc.

In Europe the function is default ON and you have to button it OFF.

This is to comply with EU consumption/co2 emission reading regulations - ie: when measuring these things they must be done with the vehicle at default engine settings. In US and elsewhere I don't believe this is the case.

I have heard that it should be a simple matter to take the switch out and reverse the polarity but haven't been brave enough to do that (yet).

Also from UK here. I confirm that Auto-start/stop function is on with every car start. Need to press button to turn this function off (light on (A) comes on).

If someone has a way of changing this for UK cars I'd love to hear about it!

Lucky Americans....

Mine stays in the mode that I left it in when I turn off then restart the car. I keep it off as I find it a bit annoying, I do not need to push the button each time I start.

I'm in the US.

As I mentioned I'm going off reviews, not actual experience. Maybe the tester used a European version. I'm glad to hear it will memorize your settings in the US. That was a minor annoyance that I'm glad I won't have to worry about

For the Europeans, maybe the dealer could change it or is it mandated by law in Europe?

Having the auto start/stop mode ON every time you start the car is too much work for us to turn off since we are so lazy here in America. Can you imagine?? I already think it's too much work every time I get in the car and hit the Sport button.

I kind of like hitting the Sport mode every time in start 'r up (as if I needed a reminder why I like driving this car so much). But the last-setting-remembered feature on the Auto off is nice.

In Australia it is default to the auto off position. I hate it.
