The porsche DB has a touch of red in it. Hence the purple feel under some lightning.
I have a 3.2 in DB and it's the same effect. Its a matt color and ages pretty well.

I still haven't seen any purple in DBM. You can distort/filter light to give the appearance of other colors but it doesn't mean the color itself contains. I had a carbon black M3 which was a dark blue metallic from BMW that definitely had some purple in it.
This is as "purple" as I've seen it but it's really the low light and shadow not the color itself.

DBM
Dark Blue Metallic has no purple in it. It is a dark blue metallic paint, all blue, no purple highlights at all. I have a 991TT in the color and love it. See the thread I started recently in the 991 Turbo forum if you want very representative pics of DBM on a turbo. I highly recommend the color for sure!

Very nice looking color but, yes it does look slightly purple at times.
Mostly when dirty.
Looks great clean and polished.
Get PPF as every chip shows white primer.

Anyway, traveling through the Dolomiti after Z-delivery, it was dark blue all the way...
