Did as instructed and its on the car battery setting (not the motorcycle setting) and the light by the car icon is illuminated yellow, but none of the lights above by the battery indicators are on. Passenger footwell, door locked, red tip on the part that goes into the footwell receptacle.

Embarassed to ask about something so danged simple, but did I do it right?

The battery light should be on as well... Amber first and then green after some hours. I'd unplug it and try again, plug the charger first into the outlet. Make sure the connecter in the foot well is in all the way.

That's what I thought. Bumb outlet, doens't work with anything.

Yep that is the same one I got...cheaper than Porsche branded model but is basically the same peice of equipment. Works great on my 997.2 C4S
