It must be difficult not picking it up and driving it. Lol I would stop by there daily just to feast my eyes on it
I already make frequent trips to my garage to look.. but it being at the dealership would kill me.
But I totally get that you are keeping it safe. It's win - Winford you and the dealer. That car must be a serious draw for customers.
Thank you everyone for your concern and words of confidence [handful and Bacura]. Indeed, I did not make this decision without some trepidation. However, multiple factors were involved including the logistics of moving the car to my house, difficulty in accessing my storage garage in the winter through the back alley with a lot of snow, relationship with the dealership etc. I do have a plan B. Depending on how things go I may still utilize that. At least it is always kept locked and at this dealership, almost every customer is escorted by a member of the sales team from what I have seen so far. The traffic through the dealership in the winter is also very low [especially during Christmas season].
Regardless, the car is beautiful and it is very tempting to simply have it at home just to look at every day.
Soon I hope to join the rest of you who are already driving and enjoying their 9-11-50s.
Maybe you can offer the dealer your service as after hours security so that you can spend some more time with your new car!
Definitely keep that baby locked and have them put something around it to keep the gawkers from touching it!
My 911-50 is finally here. It will stay with the dealer till spring as the temperature here is below 30 Celsius today! Windchill -49! Not even a hardy Porsche can handle that. Here is the first pic. I will post more in a few days. Can't wait till it warms up.
Very nice car ! Congrats
I ordered last week my 911-50 in black. Expected delivery 5/2/2014
That online build version does not do it justice at all.. I actually would have built myself one of those, had I seen this color in RL
congrats again.. be sure to post a lot more pictures so I can drool over that Beauty
Congrats.. looks great.. I did toy with the idea of manual, but chose pdk as I will occasionally commute to the office in heavy London traffic. I do love the colour..mine is taking some getting used to after a speed yellow 997 and valencia orange 1m. You must have extreme patience to wait those months.. but when the spring comes it will be worth it.
OMG I want one of those bad, but the price of admission is hard for me to swallow. Hopefully one of you lucky owners will grow tired of your 911_50 in a few years and sell it to me.
Sask997 - Fantastic car!
I commend your will power. If it were me, I'd be in pure agony not having my new baby home with me.
