Just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for helping to narrow down the crazy list of options.

I also wanted to thank the staff at Walter's Porsche in Riverside, CA for helping to get an allocation that worked with my time schedule. They were honest and professional and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I worked with Peter Laban and Tim Churchill and both were great. Both have been with Porsche for a long time and are enthusiasts.

My car…

Beautiful machine doc! And the warmest welcome to the group. You should join our SoCal meet-up group. A couple of us that live in or near Newport met up recently and it was great fun.

I'm also a Walters's client - I also had a great experience with the sales team. Not so great, to put it midly, with my finance guy though. Don't get me started there - I'd go back for sure though, as I'm sure he was a fluke. How he remains employed there however, I have no clue.

I'm actually located in Arizona, but thanks for the invite. Sorry to hear about your finance experience. My finance guy was ok. Ended up buying the wheel and tire insurance, remains to be seen if it was a smart investment.

Looking forward to getting involved with the local PCA.

Oh boy - the wheel and tire insurance. Part of my disdain for this individual. If you haven't read the fine print on that policy, you should. I simply trusted my finance guy after he confirmed it covered curb damage - probably the most common source of wheel and tire damage. So shortly after I get home, for some reason I start reading the policy and low and behold, like the number one exclusion was curb damage. I was pissed. That was only one of the issues with him.

In any case, there's like a 30 cancellation window which I promptly took advantage of - and canceled it. At least it was 30 days on my policy. Not suggesting that's what you should do, but I am suggesting you read the fine print

I refused the wheel/tire package. How well does the voice control work? My other cars have voice control and I never use it.

Voice control has worked well so far. I added it because I used it all the time in my last car, an e92 m3. So far, the PCM is much less intuitive than the iDrive to me. I'm planning on reading all of the manuals this weekend…

I decided on no voice, I have it on my 550 and still find myself hitting buttons. Old habits are hard to change..

Just to butt in. I got it too. The finance guy told me, no matter what happens, it was a pot hole.
