That is very normal. It drove me nuts on my first 991. I took it into service and the head honcho said mine was the least problematic of the ones he had driven! Anyway, my Pcar dealer says that the $270 Power Steering Plus option gets rid of it. I'll let you know when my 911_50 gets delivered.

The 997's do it also. I have had three and all did it in cold weather. Nothing to worry about.

Why does it do that or feel that way?
Summer high performance tires have compounds that get hard below about 40 degrees F. With wide tires the tread "nibbles". Your owners manual suggests not using thin in cold temps as they will not handle or stop as well as when temps are warmer. All season or winter tires stay softer over winter temps.

Thanks for the info. It's not too late for me to make changes on the order. Do you think power steering plus is worth the $270?

Yeah, the squirrels are worse than the acorns.

Freaked me out too first time I heard it. She's got new shoes on her but when the time comes I'm going to be looking for more of an "all around" tire. Wasn't just the noise, but almost a bucking feeling. I was like "why are my front half axels popping on my C2?"

Those "acorns" just might be some C7 trolls that are following you with great envy. Looks like you may have just backed over a few of them.

My understanding is that it has nothing to do with the tires.

You need to drive cars equipped both ways, if you think it will matter to you at all. Some people really do not like PSP. Other people find it benign, while still others wouldn't order a car without it. Even though it's probably just a software tweak, you're stuck with whatever configuration you order, so you want to make sure you want/don't want it before ordering.
