Default 2013 or 2014?

Hi everyone,

First post for me. I've been lurking and reading a lot the last couple of months. Thinking of pulling the trigger on my first Porsche and went to visit the local dealership on Saturday. I don't need the car until next July/August, but am doing my homework early.

Thinking of picking up a C2S in manual. Just a few questions I'm hoping someone can help with.

Is it better for me to wait for a 2015 model or just get a 2014? I read another thread that said the 2015 might be out late July. Is there any anticipated benefit to waiting, such as backup camera with park assist or a model update for 2015?

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I look forward to being a member of this community shortly.

Richard

The title should say 2014 or 2015. I can't figure out how to change it. Sorry.

If you are custom ordering, I would wait and order 2015. Of course, better deals on 2014 sitting on dealer lots.

I doubt there will be any significant changes, so price would be the major difference between models.

I think I recall that the 2013 models were being delivered in Aug / Sept, and there was also a small price hike this year.
If you don't need the car for another 10 months, I'd wait and have a 2015 if that matters to you.

There have been some additional options added to the list since inception such as a glass roof, adaptive cruise control, rev matching, mirrors (I think) and some colours.

But nothing mechanically or cosmetically different has been announced for 2015 (just yet).

But what about the 2016's? They will probably be even better. To demonstrate: If one keeps waiting for the "new improved" model, one would still not own their first computer. Not trying to be a wise-guy...Life is short, buy the car, drive it and enjoy it!

[/IMG]The above 2 posts are why I bought a 991 C4S today. Life is too short to keep holding off one more year. Tomorrow is promised to no one said a wise person.

Of course I will post the obligatory and gratuitous pix in the AM. Got home after dark today...

Be safe
Patty
