Default Another one bites the dust....Brand new 2013 991S

After debating, introspecting and thinking about buying the 1st Porsche a million times and for over 6 years - I have finally pulled the trigger on the car about a week back. I got a new 2013 manual Porsche S.

Options: Agate Grey, Manual, Sports Chrono, Premium Package Plus, Bose, Sunroof among other options.

Got a great deal on the car. Leased it for 24 months w/74% residual; 0.002 Money Factor (MF). Negotiated ~16% off the price of the car.

I usually hold my cars for a long time. Typically over 10+ years. However, decided to lease this time to give me the option to either upgrade or buy after the lease. I do realize this option is more expensive than buying. I wanted to take advantage of a business write-off making leasing initially lucrative as well.

I have driven over 300+ miles on the car and so far really enjoying and loving the car. I hate to admit that once I have had a Porsche there would be no other substitute.

I want to thank all members of this extremely helpful group. I am sure I will have questions during my ownership. I look forward to being a contributing member of this wonderful group of Porsche owners!!

Congratulations! I think you have it right, now that you've taken the plunge there's no going back. Given the length of your internal purchase debate, does a 2 year lease give you enough time to figure out what happens at the end?

I agree - there's lots of good factual information and good people around here...and opinions are in no short supply.

Reminds me of a comment I heard a long time ago: "remember, opinions are like @$$holes...everybody has one!"

now back to our regular programming...

Hey Congrats!!! You're going to love the car - seems like you are already. Wow 16% off sticker? Was it brand new or had some miles on it? If new, I'm bringing you in next time to negotiate my next lease And yeah, I leased too - never had done a lease before this car, but went ahead and did it for the same reasons you did.

I came from a Ferrari, and I must say I'm beyond thrilled with my 991.

Yes the car was brand new with about 45 miles on it. Dealer had the car for a few months - I think since June 2013. Looking forward to Porsche ownership.

Congrats on the car, and on the fantastic deal! Can't wait to see pics. Drive it in good health, and enjoy it! There truly is no substitute. My first reaction when driving away from the dealer in my 991 C2S back in June 2013, and coming from an E93 M3, was "boy, the wrong company has the motto "The Ultimate Driving Machine.""
