^the only thing I can think of is that this is the new "trunk money" for 2013 and the 991?

I think it's possible the individual dealer might extend a warranty (with an aftermarket policy) for one year, I still don't think PCNA would do this. That would actually make it advantageous for an unscrupulous dealer to mark their cars sold a day or week before the new buyer actually takes delivery to give them an extra year of warranty. Don't see what would be in that for PCNA.

Agree with above. Definitely get it in writing what kind of warranty extension you are getting.

If it is truly a 5 year factory warranty, great deal. Still good deal if outside warranty IMO.

I have never heard of Porsche extending the warranty on new cars. If this is possible, it would be something very new that is instituted. I have been owning Porsches for quite soem time and stay abreast of these types of things. However, with that said, be sure to get it in writing that PCNA will cover your car until the stated period or else you will be online in the future stating how to dealer screwed you. Please let me know as I am interested in a 2013 that has trunk money available and the extended warraty period would be a great tool I could negotiate as well.

Agree with MTBScott and GSIRM3.

Is the Warranty "extension", even if in writing, from PCNA or just from the dealer?

Again, it is my understanding that if a car is put into demo service Porsche will extend the warranty provided it is for a long enough period of time - I don't think a few months of demo service is enough. Just being punched sold does not trigger the extended warranty.

Just like I said in my earlier post.

Get it in writing if they are offering it.

And I explained why a dealer "punches" a car also.

The extension does sound strange, as others mentioned, I would only do this if it was a Porsche warranty. I bought a "punched" car, but mine was only 2 weeks into the warranty so it didn't really didn't matter to much. I called up Porsche NA just to confirm the warranty start date and that the dealer wasn't trying to pull a fast one.
