Send me a PM. I have moved there twice from the US. Importing a car once. You'll need you car paid free and clear at least 6 months before you move to avoid tax. The inspection process - which you have to take your car thru within one year of importation - is intense and very detailed.

Dalema, I have imported three cars into CH and it's easier than you think.
You pay 10-15 sfr at the port of entry and you can drive the car for a year. Since you're an expat, You can then register the car and not pay taxes for three years (Z Plate)
Same goes for buying a new or used car in CH.
