Anyone have any issues with heat output? We had our first cold morning (mid 40s F, 8C) yesterday and I could not get heat. Called the dealer and he said "probably we need to reprogram the CC" as if he'd heard that tune before. Thoughts?

BTW, 2013 991 C4S.

Yup, the heater takes a while to function in these cars. You will notice a 'step' in heater-output when the water temp reaches 50 and then another 'step' when it reaches 80 but until then it's heated seats all the way!

I think VW/Porsche never improved on their old open-a-vent-in-the-floor-and-let-the-engine-heat-in system from the '60s as it's always been a weak point.

I just noticed that my heat won't come on as well. It was working fine when I got it in the beginning of the year.

I've just been through this heat drill....and...drum roll...defective heating system check valve. Voila! Replaced under warranty and all is fine now. Get your 991 in to the dealer and tell them to check that valve today.

I spoke to service rep about this on Monday.

He indicated they can test the output at each vent to find out if there's an issue. Just waiting for cold day to take in.

For we Floridians, the AC cools within 15 seconds of turning the key........

How do you turn off the heat????

I live in Phoenix...10,000 miles so far without having turned the heater once!

Had to take my C4S in to the dealer for the heat issue this week. Apparently they replaced a heater control valve that was frozen shut and/or broken.

heater here in the pac nw works great. it was in the low 50s this morning. first thing I do every morning is put the top down, seat heat on, and temp control to 77-80. Comes on quick and good. Just wish I had the steering wheel heat as I do drive topless pretty much all winter when possible.

Our C2 had precisely the same problem, as mentioned above. There seems to be a pattern emerging?

Found last night that mine doesn't work either. Seems to be a very common thing with these cars.

Noticed when I was driving, heat turned on this AM then cooled down. Had setting at 75 degrees. Felt it should have been warmer
