I wonder why that has not been done?

Why should it need fatter tires?

R compound tires, proper tire loading for suspension/weight and an ideal contact patch= performance. Fat not so much.

/shrug....Kudo's to GM for even making a car like this but how many Porsche buyers would really want this thing? No a/c and drives like a truck. Now, I'm not a trackie but this vehicle seems like and answer to a question nobody asked.A Porsche is FAR greater than the sum of it's parts......a Z/28.....not so much.

how do you know it drives like a truck? a/c is optional.

Lots of fanbois here that think that no other performance cars exist.

Exactly. It's a track car. You could not dd this car. If we were to strip out a 911 of its speakers, HID lights, ac, carpets, trunk lining, seats, interior lining, sound deadening, thin out the glass and so on... and put on track specific tires, as well as uncomfortable yet stiff and sporty spring and damper rates, I'm sure the 911 will destroy that time. They should be comparing the Z/28 to the new viper. Not the 911 (which the director of the Z28 has been doing non stop since that lap time.

GT3 Cup??

If you were the marketing guy at GM would you compare your new car that you were really proud of with a Viper or the 911?

I really like the car I doubt I would buy one but lets just say this. I will never buy a Corvette or GTR. I have always liked Camaros. At least the older ones. The 69 RS is on my short list of favorite cars. I got burned hard twice buy GM so it would be hard to buy one but it sure is nice to see some nice performance cars being produced by them.

7.0L V8, 500hp, 470 ft-lb, six-speed manual transmission, torquier and faster than a 991.
Maybe not a great DD but a very fun weekend toy and track car, If the price is right, whats not to love?

I've always liked Camaros. If we didn't already have an SS in the garage, I'd talk my wife into buying a Z28.

Well for starters I'm not a fanboi...I'm a 56 year old doctor. Yes I am aware that the Spyder and Z28 have a/c as options. I said drives like a truck because the reviews I read ( I am sure I will never drive one) said the ride was bone jarring. Even GM say it is street legal to get you to the track. I am not putting the Z28 down and I'm sure it would be a fun track car. I also recognise their are cars faster than my Porsche. But, as a total package it not even comparable. I consider my 200K Porsche a great car regardless of price. I just don't personally think the same about the Z28.
