Default Rear Apron removal

I am thinking that a good winter project would be to have the rear apron painted to match the body. Preferred option would be to remove it and have it painted while the car is in winter storage.
Has anybody removed the apron while leaving the rear bumper cover in place. It looks like the apron is secured by a couple of torx screws and a possibly a pop rivet. Advice from anyone who has removed the apron would be appreciated.

Not sure. Regardless, the rear bumper comes off very easily. If you go this route, change your engine air filters (early) while-you're-in-there.

Wonder if you could wrap the rear fascia easier and get better wear than paint? Just an idea.

Good winter storage project.

I looked into this when I purchased a CF rear diffuser. The consensus was that you needed to remove the rear bumper. If you do a search there are a couple of step by step docs explaining the process. It looked pretty simple, just removing a bunch if screws then wriggling the bumper around a bit.
As it turned out my local dealer kindly installed my CF part gratis.

Good luck
