Default Dirty Rims

I have two 2013 BMWs, one an SUV, the other a sedan. The wheels are made out of some kind of miraculous material that hardly shows any brake dust or other dirt. Are there any replacement wheels for Porsches made out of that kind of material that are on the market? I'm really tired of of the time I spend trying to keep my Porsche rims clean.

I doubt there is a difference in the wheels, more likely the brake pads used on each. I use wheel wax to help keep the wheels clean. It still takes time to clean then when I wash the car, but everything wipes off much more easily. I don't need to use wheel cleaner with this method, but occasionally use goof-off to get something particularly sticky off the wheel, but I re-wax that section for next time.

^good advice. In addition, I'd recommend Armor All Wheel Protectant as a topper. Bye bye brake dust.

I use this stuff, most of the dust rinses off, then sponge the rest.

+1 on the rejex.

As you get a few more miles on your car the brake dust will be less.

BMWs are notorious for brake dust and most owners, like myself, who want to get rid of the problem get ceramic brake pads. I don't know the situation with Porsches but ceramic pads will do the trick if you can get used to the difference in braking.

I was under the impression you couldn't get ceramic pads with steel rotors

I have the 19" wheels on the C2. Much easier to clean than the more complex wheels. While some of the specific products others have pointed out may be better, I just use the same polish (Zaino) I put on rest of the car on the wheels also. The dust rinses off easy with a hose.

You can't get the PCCB pads with steel rotors. there are aftermarket companies like Hawk that has ceramic pads that have less dust.

I also use the armor all wheel protectant

Consider a wheel coating. Like a wheel wax, a wheel coating protects against brake dust and road grime. The biggest advantage, however, is that a wheel coating has a might greater heat tolerance and they last a lot longer than a wheel wax.

How To: Coat Your Wheels

Detailer's Wheel Coating - Setting a New Standard

Detailer’s Wheel Coating is a nano-glass ceramic coating that provides your wheels with unparalleled protection against brake dust, dirt, road grime, oil and tar. Formulated using nano-glass ceramic particles, Detailer’s Wheel Coating blankets your wheels in a durable, high-gloss protective barrier that resists brake-dust build up, keeping your wheels clean and protected in between regular washes. A single application lasts up to 1 year!

Detailer’s Wheel Coating resists the effects of brake dust and keeps your wheels protected. The nano-glass ceramic coating created by Detailer’s Wheel Coating can withstand the rigorous abuse that wheels are exposed to every time your vehicle is driven.

Detailer’s Wheel Coating will keep your wheels cleaner in between regular washes. The surface tension created by Detailer’s Wheel Coating is so immense that brake dust, dirt, grime, oil, and tar will simply rinse off.
