Power Sports Seats vs. Adaptive Sports Seats Plus
Configured my 50th and like many others have a lot of time to wait and ponder my choices.
I would appreciate input regarding the difference between these seats and if it is worth the additional $1K for the adaptive seats. I do like the silver backs of the adaptive seats....
Thanks.

The day I ordered my 991S I tried out all 4 versions of the seats. The 18 Way adaptive were by far the most comfortable for me. Ordered them in the car and am thrilled with them. I am 5'10" and at the time was about 240#

Have the 18 way Adaptive Sport seats.
Love the adjustability to customize the fit. The simpler Sport seats feel loose as the hip and side bolsters are not adjustable to give that snug feeling.
However, the 18 way is not required for the passenger side. Have you ever had a passenger that was fussing over the adjustments? Never.
Would like to have an option when ordering to have a regular sport seat for passenger side. Save weight and $.

I didn't like the 18-way, too confining, too uncomfortable. The 14-way are sheer Perfection though, comfy yet supportive ! So happy I got those. Will not buy a Porsche without them ever again !

Like everything else, this is clearly a matter of personal preference. I had the regular power seats in my first 2 911's and my first Panamera. Since then, my cars have all had the Sport Adaptive seats. I find them more supportive and more comfortable, and I wouldn't go back.
The only other seat I'd consider for my next 911 (if they become available) would be the sport bucket seats for track use. I'm torn between a 991 GTS and 991 GT3 for my next 911. I wouldn't get a GT3 until the buckets become available.

Had the adaptive seats in my previous 997.
They were quite comfortable and I sometimes wish I had them in the 991.
They did come with the car that I selected from dealer inventory.
However, I will say that they will wear more rapidly on the side bolster if you aren't real careful getting in and out of the car.

Now i'll give you the correct answer. I'm 6'3" and 275 lbs. The adaptive seats are not comfortable at all and ingress/egress is more difficult. Are you young and thin? Bottom line.....try both and see which fits you better. Want to wear my suit?

Good advice. 5'7" and 170 lbs and still able to handle the ingress/egress. I don't like the idea of the increased wear on the side bolsters but such is life. I will have to try 'em.

Unless you are going to do a lot of spirited driving most of the time and lots of DE events, the side bolsters become an issue for most people. No question that they give much better lateral support so you body stays planted in turns and allows your arms to function properly in steering.
I had the racing seats in my GT3 and Stradale and they felt really comfy. I'm 5'9" and 138. I was doing a lot more racing then. Now I have the 14 way and they are perfect. My wife likes the comfort of the 14 way also. She is 5'3" and 103 and still prefers them to the racing seats.
As mentioned, try them both and see how you feel. No one is in your rear end the way you are.

Indeed, try before you buy.

I did not order my car and it came with the sport seats not the adaptive and here is what I have discovered about them which my dealership apparently never realized: on the driver's seat the left side bolster is not as deep as the right side. I was driving the car and could not quite get comfortable and could not figure out why until I realized that the support on the right side was different than the left. Apparently, the reason is for this is easier ingress/egress and possibly less wear. I have gotten used to it but the adaptive seats don't have this.
