Default Infant car seat for 991

Have a 2-month old infant. Has anyone had experience with an infant car seat that will fit in the back seat?

Thanks in advance!

I use the "Safety 1st Guide 65 Convertible Car Seat" in my 991 for my daughter. She's front-facing now, so it makes it easier. I shopped around for a while and found this seat would fit it both my 911 and Mini. Porsche makes a branded car seat that you may want to look into as well. With the seat rear-facing you'll no doubt have to slide the passenger seat way up.

There are some really good threads on here about this. It's what allowed me to order my C2S cabrio as a viable alternative to an M4 convertible ... because I was able to find a solution.

The thread I found recommended the Aton Cybex http://cybex-online.com/us/carseats/aton.html

For the record, I did a test fit with my wife and 6 month old son and she fit in the front with the seat all the way up. She wouldn't want to ride that close for a long road trip, but for us this is a third car so it would only be for shorter fun trips anyway.

The fit will get much better once he's in a front facing seat. I also got the 18-way seats, in part, for the shells on the back of the seats. No damage to leather by a growing, kicking boy!

Do a search. After exhaustive research, I bought an Aton 2, Cybex adapters and a BabyZen Plus (2016 model) stroller. It's the smallest you'll get on ALL fronts. Thank me later

Default Britax

I use a Britax Marathon forward facing for my little one. Can't speak to rear facing. Cosco or Harmony Booster seats fit well for bigger kids. There are quite a few threads on this too you can review (which I did) but hopefully this will save you some time to spend enjoying the car instead.

My 997 GTS with 4 way sports seats fits with the Cybex Aton 2 without the car seat base. The passenger seat is all the way forward and the recline angle is just a bit upright from a typical angle. Since my wife is 5'2 it works. If she was taller the seat back would have to tilt up pretty straight to prevent knee-dash contact.

I have the Quinny Zapp Xtra 2 stroller (if I remember the model correctly) and that fits in the front trunk. The GTS has the reduced trunk of the C4/C4S.

We have a shared SUV, so the fact that the 911 can fit everyone without an unreasonable degree of inconvenience or discomfort is all we required. It would be a very hard sell as an only car at this stage. Once he flips around to forward facing it won't affect her seating at all.

By the way, I have a 991 now and the Cybex Aton 2 fits a fair bit better in the back than it did in the 997 - my wife's seating position is now fairly comfortable with the baby rear facing behind her. In the 997 it was slightly compromised but acceptable, so she preferred the SUV for any longer distances.

Thankfully the boy is big enough for a forward facing five point seat so for me the next search is on.
