It is very confusing indeed. If you want to call for parts, best use modelyear. That's always the best way IMO. Like I said with my Q5.. A 2012 can be a pre-facelift or a facelift model. If you call it a MY2013 it's all very clear IMO.
Manufacturers themselves always use MY internally I think.

You call around, probably can get one. Lot's of persons are removing their names for various reasons, I did. While calling around for another reason (turbo allocations), I got offerred 3 911 50th allocations.

Actually most dealers will be lucky to get more than one car allocation and judging from the current state of cars in the PVMS that I can actually see there are only 66 cars in works for the entire country at present. 200 dealers with roughly 500 cars being allocated for the US means some smaller dealers will get none and the big guys may get 3-4 cars.

I'm also a little surprised at the polarization of opinions on the geyser grey- people either really like or really hate. This seems to be the controversial color.

I'm not waiting for a 911-50, I ordered a regular C4S. I postponed the delivery of the car myself to march 2014, although it wouldn't be ready much earlier than that I guess, because of the PTS color.

I don't know exactly. The only thing that i know is that the Turbo (S) and 911-50 are on schedule so far. The production of the Gt3 is delayed due to "some issues" and will start in october.

I placed my order early june, in the first week it was available. I got one of the first allocations in Switzerland. It seems like orders in Germany are handled with priority. Fair enough! ;-)
