Default Steering wheel sound?

I have this sound when turning left with the steering wheel:

Got to bring to dealer to check it out but I have been so busy. Any thoughts?

Sounds like leather rubbing on leather..

If you turn the wheel slower, I assume it doesn't make the noise?

I certainly would NOT recommend WD-40.

Is your steering column leather wrapped?
It sounds like something is getting pinched.

Should be a quick stop by the dealer to pull your steering wheel and lubricate accordingly.

Had the same sound on mine (although not as harmonic as yours - you must have the high end stereo) Took it back and they said that they lubricated the steering column where it meets the firewall - i have no idea what that means but no noise now.

May I ask how long it took to fix? I assume the noise hasn't come back after lubricating.

My steering is not leather wrapped.

I have no idea. Just dropped it off at the dealer in the morning and picked it up later that day. Noise never came back.

Same here, tech lubed the steering wheel column (dont recall the exact location) and noise was gone. Also keep on eye on clear plastic where it says PDK. Mine got all cloudy, they dont know what caused it, ended up replacing the entire steering wheel, special order from Germany took more than a month to get here....

they also replaced the steering wheel on my car. the telephone button (on left) was sticking. instead of taking it apart they ordered and replaced it with a new one from the factory. also took about a month.

they said they replaced it instead of taking it apart because they did not know if they could get it back together....
