Great, how can I get in touch with him for the tune? I have to send my ECU for the tune?

Thanks!

We actually put one on the dyno the other day and it made very impressive gains. It was a manual transmission car and made an additional 16 whp and 21 w-torque. This was a non-PDK car as well and was an additional increase over the full Fabspeed package.

The PDK car will make additional power on top of that as we are able to release different maps on the PDK cars that cannot be released on the manual cars.

This is a system that you can load yourself . The software uploads itself through the OBD2 port and is a simple 5 minute procedure. The software is 100% undetectable to the dealer diagnostics and is 100% safe.

The install was VERY simple, The car loosened up a bit (16 hp/21 tq is not huge but noticeable). The PDK mapping is very nice. Throttle response quicker and you are at higher % power at high RPM shifts. I love the way they remapped the way the throttle downshifts (changed shift points and quickness) when you are in manual mode and stomp on it. It downshifts hard and fast. LOVE it!

Both tunes combined for around $3500. Please bear in mind that I am one of those guys who likes to get every bit of performance out of his cars without doing serious engine mods (usually stay right on the warranty lines or a bit across) before calling me nuts for spending $3500 on this. I lose sleep if I don't do things like this. Yes, a sickness. I know-lol!

Info. below. No need to send ECU. Tune loads itself through an OBD module he will send you.

The pricing is as follows:

PDK Alone: $1595

ECU Alone: $2495

Both together: $3292.50 (50% off PDK tune)

It is my understanding that altering the software in this way MAY result in warranty issues.
Any thoughts?

Here is one of my threads showing my F10 M5: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=816123

I just bought a new F12 M6 cab for my wife to drive in June and I already told her to start thinking about a P car when she wants to replace it but I will leave it up to her..So far she loves the M but she has always loved the Porsche Panamera and the Cayenne Turbo. We have two small boys so they are more practical (but my F150 SuperCrew does the job with carting the family around :-)

I spent a LOT of time (as do a lot of M5 owners) justifying that the car "does what it does well" and putting my want for a "fun" performance car to drive unconsciously aside. The fact is however that the M5 has gotten very heavy, and while the torque is truly amazing, it is very hard to put the power down without a ton of wheel spin and it just doesn't feel very controlled when braking or in turns as you just cannot overcome the weight. Straight line my C2S will beat it 0-60 purely because it actually has launch "control" rather than "launch and go sideways". I am not trashing the BMW. It is a remarkable car but you cannot begin to compare them from a "driver's car" standpoint. I, along with many BMW guys, were a little taken back and in disagreement with the recent MotorTrend "Best Driver's Car" comparison, in which the M6 faired poorly. When Randy Probst stated that the M6 was "the only car I didn't want to take around the track for a third lap" I was sort of pissed off at what I considered to be his ignorant assessment. Now I get it. There is a lot of power in the M car but it is fairly useless unless you are doing runs from a roll (in which case it is REMARKABLE-the best car in its class IMO) but go around corners and it is just not able to handle it. It must have been quite a handful for him to push that car around the curves(although he didn't comment as sharply about an immensely worse handling Bentley which I found to be sort of suspect. Perhaps this could have been due to higher expectations for the M6.) Yes, the M5 is probably the best in turns for its weight-but therein, again, is the issue. It is just too heavy. BMW may be doing themselves a VERY big favor with the M4 but I cannot imagine it ever competing with the 991. This car is truly PERFECT.

I will say that the M6 is much better than the M5 for overall "fun". It has a lower center of gravity and just feels more like a sporty car. It is just not the same car as the 991. In fairness, the BMWs are true GT cars where the P cars are true sports cars. I guess it comes down to what you want but I sense (reference all the converts and potential converts on the M5Post thread I linked above) that many are realizing the missing fun in the M5.
Well said Mike. I agree with you 200%.

To me the biggest problem of the M5 was the brake. After watching the Motor Trend clip about the M6 and saw 911 won the best driver's car, my heart kind of sunk and began to think about 911.

Saw your post from M5post also triggered another motivation

E90 335i to 991 C2 here

Couldn't wait for the M4 any longer and I'm glad I didn't!

Contributed countless DIYs to e90post. Got the 335i in 2007 when I was 22 and held onto it for 6 years. Practically modded anything and everything conceivable both interior and exterior on my 335i, link below.

I never left the BMW fold. I still own my first one. 20 years this year. It's raw. It's pure. It's really, really simple. Been a good stable mate to my Porsches for years.

VERY cool! What a classic!

I also have not "left" BMW. Here's the 991s stable mate (2013 F12 M6 Cab):

lol! I hear ya! I was the same way. modded everything and then re-modded some things. Glad I switched too. Not as much that I even could ever see modding on the 991!(yeah-I'll keep telling myself that!)
