Any updates to this? I looked all over, changed languages, etc--cannot change it to feet.

I got a '14 981 recently and it had the same issue. However, after driving for 25 miles, the yards changed into feet and it has stayed that way since...

Sometimes it's correct. Sometimes it's not. Tonight it advised 200 yards about 100 feet from the turn. Three minutes later it correctly announced the next turn was 400 yards away.

It's goofy but the map appears correct

There is a simple fix...just use Google Maps in your Smart Phone...

You kid, but I use Waze on my smartphone even though I have a pretty good Nav system in my current vehicle, and I expect to use Waze a great deal in my 911 once it arrives.

Waze uses crowdsourcing in a big way. All the users can report police, speed/red-light cameras, construction, debris on the road, and other hazards, and they are displayed on the screen and announced audibly as you approach them. Plus the system can monitor everyone's speed to detect traffic jams, and it adjusts your route on the fly if necessary to avoid them. Highly recommended.

Waze also permits users to edit the maps, adding roads that are missing, flagging roads that are closed, updating legal/illegal turn information, etc. So it has the most accurate and up-to-date maps possible. And the data consumption is very small.

I come back every few months looking for a fix to this problem. Never see news of a firmware update that will fix the problem wherein the GPS Voice says "turn in 100 yards" when the actual measure is 100 feet.

All the folks who chimed in and said to change the settings in the PCM misread the original poster's issue. They are answering a question that was not asked.

There is a genuine defect in the software loaded into the navi, it is not something which can be resolved by changing some settings to toggle the metric units of measure.

I have a '14 981.

I had the same problem when I first got my 991 in Jan 2015. I found that toggling off all of the fancy features in the Map display make the distance callouts and position of the car on the map very accurate. I turned off the birds-eye, 3D, satellite, buildings, etc. Basically, make it 2D look-down and the map rapidly refreshes. Works great in the very twisty mountains where it used to lag and not be helpful. Bottom line is that turning on all of those fancy options bogs down the computer, but it does look cool.
