Default Help with daily driver!

Hi everyone, need some help with a daily driver. Wife has her toy. I have mine. Now I am looking for a second car for myself given that the 991 is becoming a weekend toy. Moving a bit farther from NYC so would rather not drive 991 too much on highway (bad roads). Money not too much of a factor but would like to buy pre-owned (2010-12) since I will be putting on about 90 miles total per day. I would rather buy someone else's depreciation on this purchase.

Here is what I am thinking (keep in mind I am in the NYC area and will need to deal with winter weather):

Pre-owned:
A) Cayenne S or GTS
B) Range Rover full size
C) X6

What do you think? Any other choices?

The new Range Rover! I've driven it a few times, and nothing on the market right now can beat it's interior. You definitely notice the all-aluminum body, it's so much quicker now, and the ride is fantastic.

Only problem is that the depreciation on them is probably going to be horrible (assuming it's going to follow the trend of all Land Rovers to date).

Well my father in law has has had a few Range Rovers and to be blunt you could not give me one. They drive like tanks are either under powered or get horrid fuel milage.

I have not driven the newest one but it would have to be 10 times better to be even mediocre. English cars??

Worth watching. Might change some misinformed attitudes about British cars.

Don't think the new Rover can be bought preowned. It's too new

Get a Cayenne. best option the three if you want to buy a used one.

New Range Rover Sport is very nice, but still think that the Cayenne is the better option to buy.
Here's a nice videotest between Cayenne and new RR Sport.

BBC does do a good job of highlighting their country's car manufacturing, but not much credit is given to all the foreign companies that helped make it happen from an engineering and quality control perspective.

I know it's not on your short list, but the Panamera is a great car.

Have you ruled out the upscale Japanese 4WD SUVs?

No. I am open to all suggestions. These are my short list items. But please make other suggestions. Totally open!

Look at the Audi Q5 or SQ5.

The big and mid Lexus or Infinity. And of course you have the American versions (e.g. Escalade and Denali). A lot to choose from. We had the mid Lexus awhile back (my wife that is). A comfortable reliable car. My current "truck" is a Yukon Denali. Smooth ride and good power and very thirsty. None of the above have the sport feel that you might be looking for. They are "trucks." If sport has priority, you're back to BMW or Porsche.

Definitely a Rover. They've really upped their game.

I would (and do) drive the 991 as my daily driver. My second choice from your list is the Cayenne GTS, it is a pretty nice little truck!

From your list the Cayenne. But have a look at Panamera, Mercedes s class amg, BMW 7 series or Audi a8/s8 too. Sat in new s class the other day, extremely comfy seats ! Might throw one of the James Bond / Skyfall cars in the mix if you are the stylish type, Jaguar XJ Supercharged. If it's good enough for 007 ... ;-)
