i got first batch of 991 when it came out and never thought anything of it until going to sell. when listing on any sales site... or even putting the VIN into any database the vehicle would come back as "black edition 997"...
when i actually sold the car to a dealer (was a trade in, they took vin and made offer)... the paperwork all said "black edition 997" from the VIN decode.. and when they got the car on the hauler they were shocked and happy as crap it was the new one (they had no clue)
just spoke with another member who bought a 2012 "991" and it was advertised as a 997 because of the VIN...
curious if anyone else has had this problem, i knew the shared year would be an issue.. but curious why the VIN's come up as 997.... is their any way to rectify this issue... or they just were using VIN's destined for 997's?
