Default 2,000 mile / break-in service?

Is there a 2,000 mile / break-in service required?

What does it include?

TIA

The only service required is to keep moving your right foot very rapidly. It's important that the mechanics of your throttle keep moving a lot so no rust can have a chance to accumulate.

First service is just an oil change at 10.000Km

2000 miles is probably a good time to stop by your dealer and have the service team look over the car...check tire wear, fluid levels, answer any questions, etc.

My service team discourages premature oil change as wasteful and unnecessary. They said it might be considered if one plans on parking the car for the winter, but really only if it makes you feel better.

Here in the U.S., first scheduled oil change is 10,000 miles.

How temporarily? Like as in just a second or two? If so, I think that's normal (mine lights up most lights during startup I seem to recall).

Oh, I thought you meant one of the lights in the tach - do you mean a notice on the display to the right of the tach?
There's a way to access any info notices on the mini display - perhaps try that to see if there is a service notice there.

I had the service light come on and the dealer says this is a known fault but no permanent fix yet. They just reset something an it went away and has not come back (reset about 4 weeks ago). They did the PDK software upgrade at the same time and what a difference to snappiness of shifts in Sport +

The intermittent service warning started coming on after 1k miles and again after 2k miles. The dealer reset the warning on both occations and I was told that it is a SW issue and that there is no fix yet. Expect it to be fixed in a future SW update. There is of course no reason to do service after 1k and 2k miles.

I had the oil changed at 2K. Also, did an oil sample for spectral analysis. But at 5K what a difference in the 3.4L's operation. Much quieter at idle and super silky smooth power band. We did only long trips for the first 5K, also (all since June 17th). This what the factory recommends, and it obviously makes a huge difference.
