So if I have a Carrera S with sport exhaust, what do I need if I want it to be much louder when I turn on the sport exhaust, but remain quiet otherwise?

Hey guys,
Someone sent in a video of their 3.4L Carrera so I thought some of you might want to hear it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_ch...ature=youtu.be

These are in stock at the moment

I believe we do have one set. We honestly don't do the race one very often. It's bloody loud I actually like this one a lot lot more... Fun, aggressive sound when you want it and without any drone etc...

Alex, doesn't this thread start (at the beginning) with your release of the RACE exhaust? Video sounds very nice, not crazy loud. I do not want to give up the cm valves (no PSE) and I want "some" performance gains with the "noise" and the weight savings and heat away from wheels also make sense. But ....

Thx,
R

Was the side muffler delete ever dynoed???

The clips don't make it sound too loud. Is it obnoxious?

Sharkster,
Are you guys going to have a louder exhaust available for the 991.2?
Everything that I read is that the Sport Exhaust (PSE), is not good enough on the new turbo motors of the 991.2. Therefore, many of us will have to bring back the sport exhaust sounds required to really enjoy the Porsche 911. Just wanted to know how long it would take for you all to have an exhaust???
Thanks. By the way, love the sound for the 991.1 My neighbor has it on his CS and it is awesome.

We never dynoed it unfortunately. We do not have a dyno here in house. I would expect a small loss of torque below 3000 RPMs and a decent gain (maybe 15-20 HP) across most RPMs. You also take a lot of weight off the car. If anyone here would like to dyno one I can help out on the price.

Yes it is quite loud. Not the loudest I've heard on these cars, but many people might think it's too loud.

Can't say yet but we've always got our eye on these cars

Dan, are you saying the Side Muffler delete (aka SW Race exhaust) would lose T? I understand the CM delete causing a loss w the loss of back pressure immediately off the headers but not the side muffler mod! Agency Power makes both an X pipe (cm delete) and a side muffler delete. They claim increased in T & HP with the side muffler delete & have a Dyno reference to show it. I want to do business w you & Alex again. What say you? Thx,
Rob in Louisville

Yes that's what I think would happen, but haven't dynoed it so I cannot say for sure.

The overall backpressure change is more important than the physical location. I wouldn't expect to lose any torque with the center muffler and still only a small drop with the sides. But if their dyno shows gains all over, I'm sure ours would do the same.

Thanks for the reply. The PSE with it's cm valves that bypass is claimed to lose some T. I do believe it mattes where (distance wise from the exhaust valves) that the loss of back pressure occurs but I'm not an engineer either. I do not want to lose any T on these already low T engines ! 15-20 HP sounds good but 400 is already plenty! Thanks again Dan.
