Thanks for sharing because this is prob what I would have done... trying to figure this situation out too. I have a macan... and when lifting the door handle to use valet key... u can’t lock because the door handle has to stay up... open... and then it won’t even lock using the inside door button... so now I gotta find something water proof and carry the darn thing..... or a friend who will surf the exact amount of time as me and the same time....

any other solutions/suggestions?

do you have a surf rack on your car for the board? If so, any pics? I think that would be a cool look.

I surf often. Just hide the fob somewhere creative!

Bunches of waterproof bags on eBay but I had one fail with a key in it while at the beach (long story) so I put the key in a zip lock baggie and then in the waterproof bag. Luckily I live on the beach now so I just walk to the surf, which is another way to avoid the problem.

I just drive my Raptor to the beach and lock the keys inside. Door has a code to get in. Problem solved

My wife's MKC has that feature as well...I wish there was a way to do so in the 991 since I would leave the key in the car all the time.

We have AAA Plus, with free roadside gas, battery jump and locksmith service on all our cars. And it also includes free flatbed towing for up to 100 miles to the destination of our choice. I had to use their locksmith service twice over the years, and they were able to get in without damaging the car.

I do it all the time. I have a Cayman S now but should be the same. With the drivers door shut and passenger side open. Press lock on the FOB and leave it close to the driver side. Keep the emergency key in your leash pocket. When you shut the passenger door the car will lock. Open the door after your session with the emergency key and grab the remote. Press any button and your good to go. This is without the "Entry and Drive option.

On my Denali I can leave the key in the car and lock and unlock it using the app. Is there no such feature using one of the Porsche apps?
