Default Price check?

Considering these two preowned cabs ... prices below.

2012 991 Carrera cabriolet, 4k miles, 1 owner, at p-car dealer, Certified, PDK, stock 19" rims, sport seats (4 way), sport chrono, natural leather, nav, Bose, heated seats. $96k.

2012 991 Carrera S cabriolet, 2k miles, 1 owner, at p-car dealer, Certified, PDK, sport chrono, 20" rims, 14-way sports seats, premium pkg. $102k.

Any thoughts?

For my money, it would be the S model.

Yes ... I think the S is a good price, trying to get a fix on an appropriate differential between the S and the non-S.

Tom, thanks for the PM!

That can be added after the fact.

Really looking for pricing advice, not options. Thanks.

Definitely go with the S for only 6G difference.

the S for sure, as the sports seats alone are like $4k IIRC.
The Bose is only marginally better than the stock radio, so no biggie.
The red calipers on the S look great.

sport exhuast is very nice but as you said it can be added. Furthermore if the exhaust recall hasnt been done one can just pay for the parts and get the Labor included.

Both cars are over priced by $15-$20k.

Hudyman:
  • Using that math puts a $20K optioned S Coupe, 7MT, at $70K (or your purchase at $60K) That car won't exist for a while.
  • I'd place the figure at closer to $88-$91k and $95-$97k, respectfully, depending on color combos.
  • The best buy is Rennlist @ $17.95

OP:

From the seat of your pants, not much difference between a S or base. I was looking for a highly optioned Base Cab, and happened upon a S Cab with the options that I was looking for.

PASM was a real difference maker for my taste. I like the S.

I vote for the "S" which will maintain a better resale, has the better seats and nicer wheels. Plus it will be a bit more fun to drive.

If money is a concern, then I doubt that you'd be seriously looking at a $100K used car, so don't sweat the $6k extra.

Now, the downside is that the "S" is likely to have a bit stiffer ride. If that's a concern to you, then buy the other one.

I bought the base cab for about $10k less than the S would have cost me ... it's in perfect condition, and Certified. The S was tempting, but it was 3000 miles away and the other car was local, so by the time I got it here it would have been a lot more, especially losing the sales tax advantage on the trade I did. Took delivery on Saturday and will post photos. I am a happy man ... Carrara white with a full natural leather Carrera red interior and red top, 19" rims, sport seats with full leather backs, Sport chrono, PDK and a few other goodies.

If anybody's interested in the S, I will provide a link to it. It's in Colorado, dark blue with beige interior.
