Default Would love some input on potential purchase

Local BMW dealership took this car on a trade and is offering it at 98K

2012 911 C2S with the following options. Only thing I feel I would miss in S-PASM which is missing. How much do you feel would be a reasonable offer. Also looking at the option list, why are heated and ventilated front seats listed as free? Can anyone suggest an option that is missing but "crucial"?

Thanks!

Specs look pretty good! I have PDCC and like it, but wouldn't consider it "crucial." I also think the premium for the Burmester isn't worth it in these cars, but I would certainly enjoy it if I had it.

The heated/ventilated seats are part of a package on the vehicle, that's why they don't show up with a separate price. You might want to go to the configurator on the Porsche website and "build" an identical car - then you'll see what is included in each package.

I haven't really had any reason to study pricing on used 991 cars. The ask is 16% off msrp. I suspect the original buyer paid $107-108k for this car. Dealer probably gave $88 to 90k for the trade. I would offer maybe $94k (deducting around $3k from the ask, representing what a Porsche dealer would charge to CPO the car, and consider spending the money on an extended warranty through your porsche dealer.

You should also snoop around for new ones. My dealer has a 2013 C2 cab MT new for $88k ($95k msrp)

Good luck!

Definately agree with the Hammer, ordering new would be my choice.

Seems like a lot of money for a 2-year-old, used car. It's already used up 2 years of the warranty. Depreciation on that car should be at least 28% so the price you should offer them is $84K.

As for the items with no charge, they are included in the Premium package.

Thanks for all the feedback. I tried to spec an identical car but as I add stuff, the configurator makes me remove things in place of "packages" and it just gets too complicated after a while.

Bet they would laugh if I offered 84K, I know I would... What interesting is that there aren't many used 991 for sale in my area. 2-3 have come up in the last year and they seem to sell rather fast

Can the front lip that comes with SPASM be added easily?

Car was originally sold in May 2012 and I'm not sure how much warranty is left. Carfax is clean.

Hammer suggested buying new off the lot with a discount on the outgoing 2013. I think it would be harder getting a discount if one were to order a new 2014.

$98k seems awfully high.
The configurator is actually quite easy. For instance, if you select the Prem Package and try to add ventilated seats it will simply ask to void either one of the redundant selections made.
Cast your net far and wide. There is nothing to fear in buying out of state.

And a P-dealer may even give you a deal on extending the warranty thru 7 yrs.

Call the 1-800 PORSCHE number with the VIN and they should be able to tell you when it was put into service.

I have found greater bargaining power with ordered vehicles since I purchase exactly what I want. Dealers do not "throw in" items on the sticker for free.
The only time this becomes a problem is (generally American cars) when there is a dealer or factory incentive that would expire before an ordered vehicle would arrive.
For me it is easier to establish an "over invoice" price which can be universally understood dealer-to-dealer vs discounts on certain vehicles which may have lot rash.

Here's a 2012 with 6 miles on the ODO and the dealer is asking $82K and will accept offers:
