Thoughts on my 911 50 configuration?
#64
No build date provided on my allocation, but told that final config would need to be provided in september (don't know how long it will take after that). The question is - to PDCc or not to PDCC? Have not driven a PDCC equiped car, thoughts welcomed although there 's been a lot of discussion on the subject, still not convinced one way or another....guess i will have to go drive both and decide...

I'm getting the graphite with the glass sunroof. On the configurator it looks great. Also, I'm taking the leather seats. The cloth are retro but ugly. In fact they were ugly in 1963. Remember the original ugly 928 seats? I have seen the Geyser grey in real life. It is not ugly but it is very bland. I didn't take black because any 911 can come in black. I wanted the exclusive color. If I had my choice I'd get guards red like my current 997S. Mine is arriving in about 5 weeks with PDK/PDCC/PCCB/LED headlights/light design package....in fact I ticked off every single option except the gas cap and rear wiper and ventilated seats. The rear wiper is very functional but ruins the lines of the car. I have been given an October 25 delivery date. By the way, the graphite is just a non-metallic agate grey.

Congrats! First, I thought the glass sunroof does not match the graphit gray, but I changed my mind. I think it looks awesome. Not so sure how it matches the classic styling of the 911 50, as I think that its modern combination of colors. But I imagine this does not have to be a problem.

IMO, the 911-50 was not well thought out by Porsche. Unfortunately, the design team provided a poor exterior color selection, poor interior color selection, and fugly wheels. That is really too bad, because it could have been so much better!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The full black leather is a nice interior and what I would normally get. I agree color selection is borderline but I quite like the graphite. As for the wheels, I do like them but would have preferred an exact Fuchs look-a-like.
