No doubt the Boxster is a great car, looks fantastic and from the reviews it seems like a great drive. I can't fit in it comfortably, too tall. Also, I recently took 2 of my kids on a summer evening drive for pizza in the back of my new 991 Cab, they had a blast (they are only 4 and 6). I was cramped up front being taller --like I was driving a Boxster, but my kids were happy. Try that in a Boxster.

Comparing my 991 to my previous 07 boxster, I can now say, over rough pavement the 991 is a much more composed, comfortable, rigid chassis ! Boxster had some chassis flex and squeeking going on on bad roads, none of that in the 991.
Also my 991 with PASM doesn't scrape nearly as much in driveways and over speed bumps/sleeping policemen as the Boxster with stock suspension.

Yes. The RS-60 Spyder ran rings around a nicely sorted and tweaked 78 SC that was so "best" that I kept it for 30 years because nothing in the meantime compelled a switch. The 991 appeared and changed that instantly, a few days after the launch.
But if I had real interest in a drop top, it would be back to a Boxter S. To me the 981 has all the goodness of the 991, lots of the parts, and is by comparison a bargain. It just lacks the torque.

A lot more chicks hit on me when I'm in my 991 than ever happened when I had my Boxster
