I've had my car for nearly a year, and the sunroof doesn't rattle at all.I've done over 25 track days in the car and counting, and even though i'm 6'1", even with my helmet on, i've got tons of headroom.

Same headroom, actually maybe a bit more since the roof lining is thinner under the sunroof.

Never used, and I can't believe it would impact resale value.

Mine came with a sunroof. I have never opened it.

FWIW, I like my glass roof. I might change my mind when and if the rattles come. Less than 3,000 miles currently.
My 2014 C2S is spec'd without sunroof... it is definitely a costly additional item in our market.

I was keen on the black glass sunroof for aesthetics, but I'm paranoid of rattles which would definitely bug me!

I have 2013 c2s almost 5 months old, 8k miles. the sunroof was rattling like crazy when going over bumps. dealer replaced the sunroof frame, took 2 weeks. no rattling so far...well see how durable the repair is.

bte my glovebox also broke--wouldn't close. had to be replaced.

not encouraging for a 112k car...

While my 991s has a sunroof, I haven"t had it open more than a few times in over 22k miles. I think 911 looks better without a sunroof as and would have ordered mine 'sunroof delete' if I had it to do again.

I didn't really want a sunroof but my wife either wanted a cabriolet or a coupe with a sunroof. I had a cab once and really wanted a coupe this time so got the sunroof. I'm tall and there's plenty of room. I like it open on tilt, not open all the way. Haven't noticed any noises at all...other than the wind roaring overhead. I'm getting to like the sunroof. I'd order one again.

I wouldn't get a sunroof just to save the weight.

3043lbs no sun roof, or other options. 3289lbs with glass sunroof. Try a top up cabriolet on a cloudy day versus a glass sunroof closed before you decide.

Uh, how much do those "other options" weigh?

Options weigh the car down; but don't ask Porsche how much those motorized seats weigh, they won't tell you.

Understood, but what I was trying to get at is that quoting the weight of the 991 w/o a s/r or any other options, and then comparing it to the weight with a s/r and possibly other options, does not help determine the weight of the s/r alone. I'd imagine that it is significantly less than the 246# difference.
