Most people with PDK equipped cars take anti-emetics before driving because it is such a nauseating experience. True story.

I ordered my 911_50 from my local dealer who was finally able to get an order allocation via a trade with another dealer. Before I did so, I called around to several west coast dealers who had 911_50s listed on their websites. Every single one told me the cars had sold. My sense was that they were sold before they even came in, but many dealers will list them as available in order to lure buyers to call and inquire. Harsh to say, I suppose, but it seems like a bait and switch as the dealers then offer other cars from the lot that are available. Or at least they did with me. If you can find one, and especially if you can get a discount, I would jump. Especially with MT as only a small percentage are MT (which is highly preferable imo). Plus, since the 911_50 has a bit of a throw-back feel to it (retro badge design, retro cloth interior, etc.), MT seems particularly fitting. Glad to see you considering another 991.

Ahh, should have read this ^^^ before posting. Yes, this is consistent with what I found.

Am I the only one that has deleted the houndstooth for full leather? I must have the least retro with PDK as well.

No, you're not. I have full leather as well. Unlike you I really like the look of the houndstooth seats. But I neither want to have fabric seats nor light colored seats in my 911. I drive the car as much as I can, I mostly wear jeans. I want seats which can be cleaned.

P. S.: I finally have a avatar picture and I changed my name. I realised 911-50 was a odd choice...

I assume you ordered the full leather because you are actually planning to drive the car and not "collect" it. I'm curious to see how many of these will actually see the road on a regular basis.

We all like different things.

What a great concept.

Blondes, brunettes, redheads. I have used that before. Maybe I should put it in my sig.

Personally, I love the houndstooth. My favorite part other than the exclusive colors and powerkit.

First true sports car I have ever owned with an dual clutch that I have truly fallen head over heels for.

I ordered full leather because I like it more. Why do you ask about daily driver vs collectible? The full leather is a factory option with the same 911/50 stitching. I don't think its more or less collectable. I was just a little surprised no one else has gone that route. I am kind of hoping everyone else gets the houndstooth. When production is over and all deliveries are complete I'm going to try and get the stats from Porsche. Specifically a breakdown on color/transmission/houndstooth etc. would be interesting to know. That's why I was hoping to have a registry forum as a sticky on these forums.

According to my salesman, almost all swiss cutomers have full leather. But, to be honest, I could'nt care less how exclusive my car is. I got it because I think that its the one that suits me best. The perfect toy for me to have a lot of fun with.

Can't speak for others, but mine will be driven nearly every day. Just like my first four.

It just seemed to me the "collectors" will order the vehicle as "retro" as possible...anything that differentiates as much as possible from the normal 991.

I'm a big believer in the notion that all these cars are designed and built to be driven, and as pleasing as they are to the eye, the greater pleasure is in the driving.

Beautiful car...enjoy!
