Default Survey: Valentine or Escort Radar Detector?

I am going to buy one but the question is Valentine or Escort? Most people like what they have but has anyone found any negatives about either?

Just recently sold my V1 for half the price I paid for it, and went back to Escort. Although the arrows ate nice, I can no longer put up with the false alarms. There are many 24 miles trips to work when it continuously beeped...continuously!

I got the Escort 9500 a couple of weeks ago and it's already paid for itself. The range is amazing compared to the 8500 and the GPS marking reduces false alarms significantly.

I think the constant falses are a deal breaker. I have the Installed versions and the falses go away over time as the system learns them. If it constantly goes off you learn to ignore it.

Have had both Escort for mostly city. Valentine for mostly road. YMMV

I have an Escort 9500 and I love it. The GPS technology virtually eliminates falses, and it has saved me numerous times.

I have the Escort 9500. After it learns and stores the false alarms, the only time you hear from it is when LEO is looking. I couldn't be more pleased with it. Saved me a bunch of times.

Had my first V1 for over 10 years then upgraded to new one a few years ago and love it. The arrows are great.
Only drawback is no GPS thus no "learning" capability as in the Escorts. Have never had a false positive on Ka band. You can defeat the x band to cut down on false alarms.

Reiterate the above. Have the 9500ci installed in the 991 and it's great, I have always used V1s before and have one in my S6 and the arrows are great, but the false alarms are ridiculously annoying after I got used to the Escort.

How much did you pay to have the Escort installed - I presume you mean a hidden hardwire.
