I read somewhere that VW's goal was to double Porsche production numbers. My sales guy who has been around for a long time says the P factory closes for no less than 2 months every year. I'm curious to see if this is going to/will change.

The factory closes for no more than 2 WEEKS in July to re=tool for the upcoming model year production vehicles.

The factory in Stuttgart is typically closed for all of August. In 2009, for example, when I picked up my Carrera S, the factory was closed from July 20th to September 4th.

Correct...although when I picked up my '04 GT3 it was in June of '03. I think for the usual models (996 that year) you had to wait until September to pick up an '04.
