Did a google search and was trying to figure out if it was worth it for me to do a aftermarket X51 upgrade. Pretty interesting magazine on Porsche engineering. Enjoy!

And what did you decide to do? Retro fit? I have the parts waiting at the dealer but the car is so good as is I haven't got around to installing it yet.

Yes, it would be a retro fit. Still not sold on it.

How much does it cost to add it after delivery? Do you get a price break if you already have sport exhaust and sport chrono?

You'll need to buy less parts because of the options you already have on the car. Dealer can quote the parts you will need and labor, which will run about $20k installed I believe. Warranty is retained. Factory option if the box was ticked ran a little over $10k if I recall.

But what do you get for those 30 extra HP? One-tenth of a second off 0-60? Seems like a lot of money for not a lot of gain.

I think so too, unless u need the top revv range a lot like for tracking or autobahn otherwise wont be too valuable. Though I would love to have the center radiator instead of a plastic hole.

Resurrecting this thread, hoping that as more powerkit cars hit the streets we'll get more info on what they can really do.

I'm expecting that Porsche, in their typical fashion, has understated the gains an X51 upgrade will bring. If Porsche says 0.1 second improvement to 0-60 I'll bet its at least 0.2 which I believe was supported by a french rag.

Really hoping to see some dyno comparisons soon.
