So, I just bought my 5 th new 911. All have had radar detectors which saved and did not save me on various occasions. We are talking Valentine and Passport. I hard-wired each myself.

I have a few problems.

My current problem is that I want to buy a Passport 9500 ci which requires custom installation. Escort recommends one installer in my village which is a Nissan dealership. I called my local Porsche dealership who told me they have never done it but provided a "we'll give it a try" answer. Neither option gives me comfort.

I have looked at many custom dashboard mounting options around the country. I will not contend with the opinions of others but I cannot find a steering wheel or seat setting which will allow me to enter or leave the car conveniently and also see the full dashboard in the same position. This is one of the several complaints I have with the 991.

My question is multifold. Has anyone had a Passport 9500 ci installed to their full satisfaction? If so, can you provide photographs of the final result and details of the design and mounts? I would like to avoid a window mount or a very expensive rear-view mirror.

I just picked up a 2011 Turbo S that has a 9500ci installed but I want to move the displays. I live in Thomasville. Did you ever find anybody to do the install for you in Tallahassee?
