Default Anyone know what this tube sticking out of my car is for?
Walking to my car earlier today and noticed something sticking out from right behind the passenger's side front wheel. Anyone know what this tube is used for?

I think it's a drain from the hood/battery compartment area... at least it was on 996/997s.

Is it normal for the drain to extend that far down? I'd check on my own car, but it is in having a window seal replaced :-(

Drainage tube. Same on my car.

My wise-guy answer would be: so you can orally inflate the airbags in the event of a water landing.

Sorry, just ran out to see mine which was well disclosed in the body. If it causes any angst, merely take a finger and gently shove it upward into the body. Since I have just run the AC and have seen moisture beneath the tube in the garage, I am assuming it is the AC's drainage.

Thanks all. rnl is correct. It is the drainage tube from the gas compartment. As freeman suggested, it was just pushed back up into the body.
