Default little bit of help please

Hi, before you jump on me I have read the manual. Starting today when I hit the lock button on the key the lights flash twice but the acoustic signal is gone upon locking the car. It had been working fine with the 2 short beeps originally. I have checked settings but cannot figure it out. How can I reset the remote key locking to give me the audible 2 short tweets when locking. I do have keyless go as an option on this new 991. Thanks.

You may have turned down the volume for your alerts? dont know if thats connected to door lock chirp, but try iy.

or-

Put the key in the house.

Get the other key and go for a ride. Return, park, lock.

Switch back to original key. See if it clears.

Just tried the panic button for the heck of it & the lights flash but no sound. What could have shut the audio off?. I checked settings and all looks ok.

Bizarre. Sounds like a software issue. I think the tone of the panic button and the confirmation chirp from the alarm come from different devices. The alarm horn is purposefully hidden to make it difficult to disable or muffle. It used to be easy to spray expansion foam and muffle the honker.

Car is 2 weeks old w/ 350 miles. Beep Beep upon locking worked correctly until 2 days ago then went silent. What gives?

I think you need to drive it more!
Sounds like a software issue.

Are you using the same key all the time? If each key has stored different settings that could be it.

I was using only one key. I tried the second key last night with the same results, no beep beep. Will check with the dealer today. Thanks all.

Make sure all your doors are closed well and the frunk, engine cover, and gas cap lid are closed right.

Check the fuse connected to the horn.

Thanks, the horn works. I checked the manual but could not find a fuse associated to the acoustic signal. I saw one for the led locking flash but that works too.

In that case your alarm siren is on the blink, or you have a loose connector.
Shouldn't be a big deal to repair.

Btw, it has nothing to do with your horn.
Good luck.
