Default Time vs Miles for Oil change

I am approaching the 1 year point on my 991 CS2 Cab. I only have 4000 mile logged to date and do not expect it to go above 5K at the 12 month oil change recommendation. Wondering if I can stretch that 12 month to 18 month without problems. I understand oil breaks down over time but in 6 months?

Porsche recommended two year intervals for the 997 (one year for low mileage) and went back to annual changes for the 991. The car may not really need it but to avoid any potential warranty issues you should have it done!

Yearly, at a minimum, regardless of (low) mileage. Then, every 7,500 miles, give or take. More often than what Porsche recommends, but oil is cheap in comparision. Can't beat that "clean oil feeling".

Do Blackstone UOA's too.

Porsche actually went back to 1 year oil change frequency for the 997 sometime around the 2008 model year. I had a 2008 997.1S and the oil change frequency was 1 year, and the same on my 2012 997.2 GTS.

The more you drive backwards the more time you will have on the clock. Trust me. Ich bin mit Porsche. Ich bin hier, um Ihnen zu helfen.

The warranty for Porsche's in Canada requires all services be done on time and at a Porsche dealer to guarantee you have warranty.
